Bookworms in Lower Elementary

The children enjoy reading with a teacher one on one. It’s easy to see how the children´s reading evolves over time. Some children start out listening to the adult read and they follow along silently. Other children repeat as we both read the text and others are completely autonomous in their reading. Some students read without really understanding the content and others read fluidly and understand everything. You can see how children go from reading three-letter phonetic words to much more sophisticated texts with completely unphonetic words.
